Restylane Lyft, formerly known as Perlane-L, is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that is specifically formulated to act like your body’s own naturally produced hyaluronic acid, helping to instantly, visibly reduce moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance found in your skin. As you age, you start to lose hyaluronic acid which causes the skin to lose structure and volume, contributing to the formation of wrinkles and folds.

Restylane Lyft is a thicker gel with larger particle size. It is injected deeper than Restylane-L or Restylane Silk which means it’s a good choice for adding volume to the cheeks and more severe facial wrinkles that benefit from deeper injection in the skin.

Over time the natural fat surrounding the cheeks begins to deteriorate, resulting in reduction of volume, sagging skin and more prominent wrinkles. It can be used to smooth away facial lines and wrinkles, shape facial contours, such as cheeks and chin, and rejuvenate the skin.

The most common areas treated are:

• nose to mouth lines (the nasolabial folds)
• corners of the mouth
• corners of the mouth to the jawline (the melomental folds)
• cheeks and chin (lifting, volumizing, shaping and contouring)

You can see results immediately although there is typically some swelling around the filler initially and this can take a few days to resolve and see the final result.

Restylane Lyft typically lasts 9 months but this can vary from person to person.

Dr. Cone or Lisa Butler, RN will perform an initial consultation with you and review your medical history. If Restylane Lyft is determined to be right for you, a topical numbing ointment will be applied to the treatment areas for 10 minutes. Restylane Lyft will then be injected into the skin in small amounts and ice will be applied.

After treatment, you might have some swelling, redness, pain, bruising, or tenderness. These are typically mild in severity and normally last less than 7 days. Swelling may be more likely in patients under 36 years, and bruising may be more likely in patients over 35 years.

Restylane Lyft requires no pretesting, but you should take a few precautions before being treated. Avoid using St. John’s Wort, high doses of Vitamin E supplements, aspirin, and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, such as ibuprofen 5 days prior to treatment, because these may increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Also, if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, discuss this with Dr. Cone or Lisa Butler, RN. An antiviral medication may be prescribed to prevent recurrences.
