At AesthetiSpa, we’ve done PRP one better. It’s called platelet-rich fibrin matrix (PRFM) — it’s the next generation of PRP.
What is platelet-rich fibrin matrix?
At AesthetiSpa, we’ve chosen the SELPHYL System for the creation of our PRFM through a controlled, closed process. To make PRFM, we first create the PRP from your blood sample, removing the red and white blood cells, leaving the serum of plasma and concentrated blood platelets. That’s traditional PRP.
But the SELPHYL system then adds calcium chloride to the PRP. This converts the PRP to a fibrin matrix, PRFM. Why does this matter? The fibrin matrix creates a three-dimensional scaffold that keeps the platelets at the injection sites. By keeping them in place, the PRP is able to deliver sustained growth factor release. Studies have shown that platelet growth factors are released for up to seven days. This boosts collagen production and increases the vascular network to deliver more blood to the area. The combination creates impressive skin rejuvenation.
How is PRFM delivered and what does it improve?
At AesthetiSpa, we apply the PRFM through direct injections, as a follow-up to microneedling, and topically. We have been adding it to Genius RF, DEKA DOT, and Fraxel Dual.
These are the skin issues we improve with PRFM:
- Photodamage
- Wrinkles
- Fine lines
- Uneven texture
- Large pores
- Acne scarring
- Stretch marks
- Volume loss
We find that our PRFM treatments will plump sunken cheeks, soften under eye hollows, and improve overall skin tone, firmness, and texture.
We’re excited to bring the next generation of PRP to AesthetiSpa with platelet-rich fibrin matrix (PRFM). Call us at 843-849-9925 and set up a consultation.
